Default Cheaper LSD's?

Hey I've been searching around for an lsd to put into my 2000 mustang v6. So far I've only come across one at AM that they make for my year if sixxer. The problem is is that it's almost $500.00! I really do not wanna spend this kinda money for one. Ik a while back ford racing made one for 250 but now they are not sold anymore. I also heard doing a complete rear swap for a similar year gt would be cheaper and that it's a direct fit? What do you guys think and do you know of any cheaper LSD's sold somewhere?

if they stopped making the LSD for the 7.5 because they were a complete POS, you can swap a same gen GT rear end but its an extra 80 pounds and you may be swapping in someone elses headache, spend the money on a Detroit true trac or eaton LSD and have your rear end rebuilt so you know what you have or get a word of mouth on a GT rear that wasn't beat and destroyed

POS as in the 7.5 rear end or the old ford racing lsd? Do you know if auburn LSDs are a good brand? It's seriously the only one I can find for my year of v6

Auburns are great compared to T Loks. I have been running one in my 7.5 for nearly 3 years.

As stated they don't sell the cheap Ford Racing LSDs anymore because they were garbage. Only things available are going to be the better LSDs out there and they do demand a premium, but they are worth it. The rear end isn't an area you want to go "cheap" on. Cheap = stranded with major repairs.

garbage meaning they won't hold up under racing conditions? or just garbage in general? surely can't be worse than a one wheel spin LOL

Garbage in general for durability and reliability. They don't hold up to much power and there aren't rebuild kits for them.

my 100% bone stock v6 auto vert went through 2, the open diff and tlok 7.5 are all junk, auburn is pretty good but they still have clutches that will wear out which is why I recommended the Detroit or the eaton
