Well I'm at 99,000 miles now and going back to school in a week without the car so it will be sitting for a little while but I'll have the parents drive or at least start it weekly. I've done the normal stuff like fuel filter, new plugs, wires, seafoam, regular 3,000 mile oil changes but is there any other stuff I should do as far as a kind-of 100k tuneup? I was thinking I should get my trans flushed since its recommended like every 30,000 miles and I don't know the last time it was done. Should I go to ford or the Valvoline place I usually go to who's running a special? I was also thinking of doing the 02 sensors. There are 4 correct? Would either two be better to replace or should I just do all 4 and any brand recommendations? Any other ideas just as regular maintenance and good tune up stuff? Thanks guys.
If the 02 sensors aren't going out no point in replacing them, plugs, wires, sea foam, change oil, and it should be fine. If you have an auto and haven't flushed the trans don't do it now.
Well I've only had the car for just over 15,000 miles and I don't know when the previous owner did it. You think it would be a bad idea to have it flushed and put some fresh fluid in?
yeah multiple fuild drops and filter changes are better than a flush. so a fluid and filter change then like 5K miles later do it again and it'll be better than a flush.
One thing we would do on a dodge trans is that you drain the fluid out, BUT you put in a 50/50 mix of new and old fluid, puting in all new fluid messes it up. This was actually the recommended procedure from Chrysler.
