Default 99-04 V6 Mustang Exhaust question

hey i got a 02 mustang with the 3.8 v6 in it i worked at a shop for work experince for school and for working there they gave me duals for free , after my cats it goes back into 2 pipes and out the back with magnaflow tips i took my muffler and resonator(straight pipe) off but i still have my cats im wondering if i should cut my cats and put a dual inlet and dual outlet flowmaster would it sound decent? i know its illegal but were i live its not a big deal. and could always put the 02 sensor in a piece of pipe so i wont get my CEL

I think you'll loose too much on the low end to make it worthwhile, plus-making the 3.8 louder is not better imho.

If you still have the stock cat setup you have 4 of them, ditch the rear two, then you're still legal cause you will still have 1 on each side and leave the sensors before and after the first set and you wont throw any codes.

if i delete the 2 rear cats will it make it sound more raspy? i know once i hit 3500 rpm with my straight pipe it kinda sounds a little obnoxious. since the muffler and res delete i found i lost some power but gained a little on the top end.

I see that you are i n CA. So am I. I wouldn't recommend touching the cats at all. You need to finish the dual exhaust (some new/used flows are about best for 6er's) out the rear(tailpipes, my old barracuda was dumped at the axle, hated it, gets annoying after awhile) and call it done. Strict rules here, but it is what it is.
