Could be a bearing but might be a brake rubbing.

no i looked into it further today sounds like it is coming from my transmission if i have the cluch pressed to the floor and the car in reverse rolling downhill(backwards) it still does it so i am thinking my reverse gear might be going bad going to get a new one and see if that fixes it

That's not a reverse gear problem, it sounds like a bad pinion bearing or the yoke rubbing the housing, it probly sounds like transmission because is being transferred through the drive shaft.

ok so i looked at the yoke and dont see it hitting/rubbing anything if you have a diagram for my 04 mustang v6 3.9L pinnion bearing location i can take a look and see if anything is wrong there

IIRC the v6 cars up to 04 used a Tremec t5. But did you have an engine swap or something? I thought they were 3.8l engines? Not 3.9l

lol that kinda threw me off, cause I had never heard of the 3.9l. I did some research and the blocks are basically identical with some internal differences. Still uses the T5 transmission.
