Default Need some advice for new rims on a 2002 mustang base

I have 2 mustangs both v6 base coupes and one is a part car I have how much pairs of tires from both of them sitting on a 16 inch factory rims and I wanted to get new one's but stay on 16 inch I want some black ones what do I got to watch out for any advice or if I switched over to 17's would anything else need to replaced I just don't want to get something then find out it doesn't fit :/

Well if you go 1" larger wheels then go 1" lower sidewall tires. Keeps it all the same. Otherwise your speedo will be off and read wrong not to mention the chance for fender and suspension trouble or even damage.

If you go 1" larger wheel size. You go 1/2" shorter tire sidewall height.

Actually no it really is gain an inch lose an inch. Plus 1 in wheel requires Minus 1 in sidewall. Check any online site.

Yea gain an inch lose an inch, however you gain 1 inch of wheel size but you have to lose 1/2 inch of side wall. 1/2 inch on opposing sides equals your 1 inch loss.

You have to look at it from the top half vs bottom half from the wheel centerline.
Going from a 16" to 17" wheel gets you a 1/2inch gain in each direction from center. To offset this you need to lose 1/2 inch of sidewall in the same direction of gain.
