Default What is this metal tube?

Can anybody tell me what this metal tube is and how in earth I'm supposed to remove it? I'm trying to remove the lower intake and I can't get it out with this thing in the way but can't figure out how to remove it. By the way I know it isn't supposed to be yellow, the previous owner painted it yellow and did a terrible job as you can tell.

Thanks, I thought that's what it was. I wasn't able to pry that pipe out after over and hour of trying so I ended up just disconnecting the lines at the firewall and twisting the whole line out of the way.
