Overheating (possibly lower intake manifold leak)
Hi there i new to the mustang forums. I have a 1998 V6 3.8L Mustang manual and i have a overheating problem... I checked the radiator fan while connecting it to the battery (still works) checked the fuses (all fine) replaced the relay, thermostat and gasket, also had checked the air bleeder valve top of the thermostat housing (not sure if it worked but will possibly check again) replaced radiator hoses, checked and replaced the coolant temperature sensor... I took it to the shop and the guy said that the lower intake manifold is leaking (but theres no sign of a leak..). I didnt put too much thought into it since there was no sign of it till few months later its still over heated, and the some of the coolant in the tank disappeared so there GOT TO BE A LEAK SOMEWHERE. It couldnt be a electrical problem so it had to be a leak.. Help pls??
Also i have another mustang issue next thread stay tuned.

How did he come to the conclusion that you have a lower intake leak?
He may have ran a pressurized test from your radiator, and found coolant slowly gushing out under pressure. That may be the reason why you can't see the leak, is because your system is not under enough pressure. Can you smell any fluid?
Also, if you want to run your own test, I recommend getting a loaner tool from your local autoparts store. They hold your money until you give the tool back. Look for a cooling system pressure tester then go from there. I think I got mine from advance auto parts a long time ago.
If you end up needing to replace the lower intake manifold, I got your back. I just replaced mine not too long ago.
