Default 2000 Mustang remote starter removal

Hey team. My wife's beloved 2000 Mustang, V6 3.8L has a Viper remote starter that I had installed for her back in the 2000 timeframe. We moved cross country to Washington state where it rains all the time. By 2008 that remote starter was dead, never started the car again. It's carcass has been sitting in the car, wired in, ever since. In the last couple of years we've had inexplicable battery drain and I have my suspicions that there may be a short in the remote starter module. I dove below the dash and the wiring is super integrated/spliced in. I could use a good wiring diagram for this or more precise information on a Viper remote starter. It's going to be a monster getting that out. Now, barring that source of the problem, could be a bad battery. I replaced her battery in September of 2016 with an Auto Zone battery. Perhaps it's not the remote starter at all, and that would be good. So, if anyone has any good guidance on either remote starter removal, or the exact right battery for this particular model of Mustang, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
