Default New Mustang Owner - Need some advice!

Hello everyone,
Bought a 1996 mustang from a guy at work today, and it has a few issues, but I got it mainly just to tinker with.

It's a 1996 V6 3.8L

On the alternator it has the green wire cut and a long red wire is spliced onto it and plugged into the fuse box in the slot that's labeled NOT USED! He said if you leave it plugged in for a few hours it kills the battery, if you don't leave it plugged in the battery doesn't die.

Also, supposedly the motor was swapped out, there is quite a few other wires cut under the hood and taped up, as well as vacuum hoses that's plugged off.

Mainly just worried about that alternator wire and the electric seat doesn't move, and I'm kinda short.
