Talking New Mustang, Upgrade Options?

Hey I just picked up a new stang.
She's a 99 3.8L automatic with 83k on the dash.
I gave er a tune up, and replaced the old filter with a K&N.
I want to throw a whole new air intake, I can grab one from American Muscle for just 64$.
After that I was thinking of throwing on a new exhaust, which one do you guys think would be a prime choice for a v6?
What upgrades would be worth it for extra HP? & keep in mind I'm still kinda a nooby when it comes to under the hood. haha

Also, I have to fill my tires like once a week.
My tires say 45 psi max so I go to 40 even.
I believe its a slow leak on all 4 tires, what are my options?
Lol also.. my rear window is peeling from the canvas top.
Do you think a shop can repair it without replacing the whole top?

i would do an exhaust!

http://www.americanmuscle.com/99-04-v6-mac-catback.html

then a tune to wake up the car this is chip version can also get flash tuner

http://www.americanmuscle.com/sct-4b...om-9904v6.html

then to top it off gears!

with these additions you should have a great performing car then next look into suspension!

x4u2sm0ke,

Looks like TomKat has your covered! This is the exact recommendations I would chose as well. Probably the first choice would be the Bama SF3 tuner though. With this you'll be enrolled into Bama's Free Tunes for Life program, which will get you custom tune updates anytime you add new power adder bolt-ons. This way your Mustang will constantly be performing at its peak and healthiest point!

After the tuner, then it's up to you for exhaust or gears next. Both are good choices and will improve in different ways. The gears will drastically change your acceleration and the exhaust will give you a nice tone to listen to, with a few more poney's of course.

I think you'll be very happy with going this route. If you have any questions, just let me know!

Easy on the tire psi. You don't need MAX or even close to it. Try running them around 35. If you have leaking tires, I'd address that and the top prior to dumping money into 'toys' for the car.

A full cold air intake won't do anything for adding power more than the K&N will, so it's a waste of money unless you like shiney stuff.

Personally, I'd get rid of those ugly headlight covers so you'll be street legal as well.

Thanks Shane, TomKat, and Roush, thats what I was thinking.
Exhaust, tune, and upgrade the gears.
And my headlights are crazy oxidized, so I just covered them.
One of the guys at work knows someone that will fix both of em for 30$.
And okay sweet, ill run at 35 next time.
When I first got the car it was only at 28 psi o.O
So all you guys against the cold air intake?

im not agianst it but theses mustangs have an decent intake set up if u have already got the drop in k&n filter you can remove the the part that goes into the fender which opens it up and makes it function like an aftermarket cold air intake! thats what i did and works well. I am going to get that mac exhaust next then the tune!

Tires first and foremost.. Something is wrong if all 4 are dropping at the same time steadily.. Either they're all old, or they sat for awhile and have a little dry rot which is potentially dangerous.. Safety first man, put your money there.

Nice car man.. I agree with everyone else. Address any and all issues before you pump money into her.
