overhead heat
I have an 03 5speed v6 mustang and had an engine light come on. I had it tested at autozone..they said it's the overhead temp reading..what's this mean exactly and is it something big to worry about cuz I just started financing this car less than a week ago help plz

Over head temp reading would infer the outside ambient air sensor..... Do you have a gauge that tells you the current outside temp?
Like the cars that have a compass and information center.
I agree with BabyGT get the actual code number that they retrieved, I don't know to much about the v6 mustangs in 03 but I did not know they had an over head information center in them.

First I've heard of an info center, and that wouldn't not trigger an engine light if it messed up anyhow. Only drivetrain critical issues would. I haven't played with the engine wiring in my 04 but I would hazard a guess that there is a separate temp sensor for the computer and the in dash gauge. If the in dash gauge is working then id assume the other has gone bad.

P1299 is the computer temp sensor getting an abnormal reading, either car overheating or bad sensor.
P0300 is multiple cylinder misfire, likely bad coil, wires, or plugs, or combination of those three.
P0340 is cam position sensor, $20 dollar part on top of engine behind water pump.
P1336 links back to cam position sensor as well, see previous.
P1270 is speed limiter reached, either you are ******* the **** out of it, or the previous owner did. Clear out with a scanner and that's set.
P1285 goes back to that temp sensor again. Either you have air in the coolant system or you need to replace the sensor.

Looking at the fact that you're getting two codes for the cam shaft position sensor being a problem in willing to bet that the misfire is due to the sensor being bad/misaligned as well. Sounds like a new cam shaft position sensor, and possibly a coolant air purge or new ecu engine temp sensor will solve your problems.

And if you're still financing this thing id go back to the dealership and tell them they need to fix it/replace the car/give you a refund, or you are going to the better business bureau sounds like they just cleared the codes before they sold it knowing they were selling a lemon.
