My source will probably be a local company called DynoTech, they build all types of high performance driveshafts.

The weak point of a 4.0 V6, is the head gasket. Cylinder pressures and temperatures will be the critical factor. I think as more people modify these cars, you will see people stay below 9 psi as a rule. If you swap the head gaskets, you should be able to run 11 psi. I think the stock rods were pretty beefy for a V6. Check out SuperSixMotorsports, for engine specs.

I have been able to get on it, with the 4.10's and it's all wheel spin in 1st. It runs good at low speeds, but doesn't have the horsepower to push the car any faster. I would say it made a nice increase in response, but it may not be much faster. When the Vortech is added, is should all come together.

Later!

personally... i view that SSM "Tech" article as a very biased opinion... LOL! Sort of conflict of interest thing...

Greetings,

I had my 4.10 ring & pinion installed yesterday at Alternative Auto. I would not want anymore gear than that, I am in 4th gear by 40mph under normal driving. Crusiing at 70mph is about 2600-2700rpm, kinda hard to say just looking at the factory tach. I only have about 60 miles on it, since the gear and T-lok install, so I have not nailed it yet. I should be able to give acceleration feedback within a few days. It for sure will make tire spin even worse!

I ordered my PHP alternator pulley and belt today, $159 plus shipping. I hope to see 4rwhp like others on the forum. I am looking for a group of people whom want to do a group buy on JBA shorty headers. I have seen non-ceramic ones for as little as $425, and we may be able to shave a few dollars more if we get 10 people or so to buy. I am still waiting for my lightweight driveshaft to be built, should know something in the next week or so.

I'm not one for adding spoilers and stuff, but I had to order the new Fang Performance front lip spoiler today. I think it's the best looking V6 spoiler yet. They are selling for $250 plus shipping, and will be ready in less than 2 weeks. Check out their website, and see the white V6 car with the spoiler.

It's going to be a tough journey to 220rwhp. I need 19rwhp more, so anyone whom has any ideas I'm open. Please read my preious posts, to see my current mods. I think the pulley is good for about 4rwhp and the headers are good for about 10rwhp, and maybe 5rwhp with a carbon fiber driveshaft? This would put me to the magic number of 220! Then it's going to be a long save for the Vortech system. I think with relatively low boost 6-7psi, I could be looking at 280-290rwhp. I imagine you could push it to 8-9psi, and acheive 300rwhp.

Hope this helps!

Very cool!!! I doubt you will get 10HP from the JBA headers, especially shorties. If I were you I would get the MAC LT's w/high flow cats. My shop put them on a six and they were impressed with it. Keep in mind my shop isn' t keen on the MAC stuff usually, but this time around they were. Those LT's might net you 8HP.

SSM does have a point though, pretty much anyone will tell you that its not a good idea to run a sc/tc with a high compression ratio. Not just with the 6's, but with any car.
