Short answer: You bet your A**

If you have an '05 V6, or an '06 without the Pony package this is a must-do imho. It improves the car's handling more than you'll probably believe.

If you shop carefully, you can do the factory GT bars for about $300. The parts for the rear bar can be had new for about $250 or so, and Saleen sells the GT front bar for only $29.95

Saleen still has the front bars, they're right here: http://www.saleen.com/SC101_Services...99-1303-C11739

If you want a new rear bar, with all the correct attaching parts, 05StangKC (who is a Ford parts guy) offers everything for $235 Shipped... I've done business with him before. He's fast and professional. See this link: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=45818

The hardware is the same for the front except for the 2 saddle clamps.

Saleen, where I bought mine, gave me the 2 saddle clamps with the bar. I presume they are different to accomodate 2 largers rubber cushion, since the bar is larger OD.

Ditto. The Saleen takeoff bar comes with the saddle brackets. The rest of the attaching parts are the same as the V6.

The rear bar DOES require adding some extra parts (special captive bolts and nuts to do it right.) If you get the bar at a good price on Ebay, 05StangKC can still set you up with the factory attaching hardware.

This may be a dumb question, but I just wanted to make sure:

When installing sway bars, you absolutely need to have both front and rear, right? And they must be correctly matched?

My understanding is that mismatched sway bars will lead to CRAZY oversteer in a hurry. I ask because that Saleen deal on the front is too good to pass up, but if I need the rear one too I'll hold off and do other mods first.

Thanks,
Tim

I got the Saleen also and the rear from KC, remember reading somewhere when I was researching that you should do both at the same time since the front GT bar is noticeably bigger. How true this is I can't say but I went and did them at the same time.
