I've read about people using this, but it was mostly on ricer forums back when I had a CRX. Get something that is meant for sound dampening a car. I wouldn't get dynamat just because it cost so much. I would look into Second Skin or eDead.

I have problems with the plastic Trunk release/trunk light panel vibrating.
Tips on making that stop?

I would check Amazon for Dynamat pricing, I got my dynamat like 25% of the cost listed on Dynamat's website.

How funny, I found this post last weekend and I bought 1 roll of Peel & Stick & 1 roll of 2" aluminum tape at Lowes on Sun to try it out. The P&S was just enough to do the entire spare tire well and an area about 12" around it as well. It worked great. I left about a 1/2" gap between sheets so the alum tape could stick to the sheetmetal & still get a good seal on the P&S.

I was doing this to reduce the drone. Meh. Kinda worked for that. It knocked the edge off. Its much more noticable for other frequencies though. You can def tell a difference, just not to much with the drone.

I'm going to buy 2 more rolls and finish off the trunk and under the rear seat. Then i'm going to layer some Closed Cell Foam & Mass Loaded Vinyl (from here: Sound Deadener Showdown) on top of the P&S.

Also, I wouldn't use P&S where it'll be subjected to a lot of heat as its asphalt based. Even lowes has several user reviews and they say they had no odor, but i'd still not do trunk lid/headliner/etc. And note, 1 roll of tape per 2 rolls of P&S is a good estimate.
