Finally finished installing AEM A/F Gauge!
I know a few of you will say it's about time. And a few more will say, "where's the sound clips from the exhaust upgrade?" Well, I have no excuse. I just wanted to get that damn gauge done. Maybe tomorrow I can get some sound clips.
I used a small hole saw to drill a hole through the firewall. After cutting the hole, I used a small PVC valve grommet which just happened to fit perfectly. Total cost, $1.91 I also routed the tubing for the boost gauge through the same hole.
For now, here's some pictures of the gauge. It's hard to get a good shot of it while it's lit up, but you'll get the point. It's nice and out of the way there, too.

Did u install the sensor on the cats? If iam not mistaken the instructions say u should place it a couple of inches away from the header collector , preferebly before the cats. What A/F reading are u getting right now at idle?

There was not a whole lot of options. Basically, the manual said to place it 12" inches away for N/A applications, and 36" for supercharged ones.
The guys at Meineke and I discussed it at length. Basically, we chose to put it on the very front of the cat. This is well before the exhaust gases get catalyzed. They even showed me a cut open one to ensure me there was just chamber at that point.
My A/F reading at idle averages around 15.5

The guys at Snow Performance said that's normal, but I really need to get a reading at WOT.
On a side note... I'm really considering the Snow kit w/boost controlled injection.

Install looks like a pro job [sm=icon_rock.gif]
I'm looking at the snow kit myself, and seems really a great safeguard if anything else. Hope you get it and let us know what you think

O use the snow kit on my 00 with great results. Flap you will be very happy with the results but remember it needs to be retuned in order to take complete advantege of the system. Good Luck

I finally found a shop (an hour away) that does dyno tuning. He said it would cost about $100 for a lifetime tune, and another $200 to get it "dialed in". He said the total would be just under $300. To me, that seems a bit high, since I'm coming in with my own Predator tuner, which is the kind they use.
He also said that the methanol kits aren't that great, and he'd save his money if he were me. Here's his quote
What do you think?
@Tres Wright
The bung came with the kit, and Meineke welded it on for me when I brought the car in last week.
Yeah, it goes in the very start of the cat, at the top... before the gases are catalyzed. Any further, and the reading would be inaccurate. The nicest part is, with where it's at, I could access it from the top. I actually jacked the car up a few pumps before I thought to check from the top. I could see it smiling up at me so I lowered the car, dropped the sensor in and finished running the wiring.
My only concern is the grommet I used for the hole I cut in the firewall isn't as tight as I wanted it. I may silicone it just to be on the safe side.

I definately wouldn't spend the money on the methanol. We have had alot of those kits come through the shop, and unless you are very specifically tuned for them, which includes upping the timing by many degrees, the kits aren't worth anything. Definately a waste IMHO.
