hello guys i just bought my gt bumper $200+ and was wonderin how much to paint it and install it dealership is charging the same for what i paid for it and most body shops are charging pretty high what is a reasonable amount for this to be done

You thought the body shops charged a lot, wait til you see what the dealership charges you. Save some time, I found that the local mom and pop body shops charged much less. Can't say the same for paint, but just to put my already painted bumpers on, they all wanted to charge me 3 figures: $550 at the dealership (15 hours of labor), $400 at one body shop, $300 at the local shop... 4 hours with my dad. Priceless.

When I got an estimate on my bumpers when Walmart banged them up, they said $900. $210 to buy the rear bumper, $180 to buy the front bumper, and everything else was for paint and labor.

The local Ford dealership's bodyshop quoted me $60 to paint and $60 to put on.

I just called 2 local ford dealerships because I need my saleen rear end pieces painted and one said 200 to do the bumper cover and he'd paint the other 3 pieces for free if I bring them at the same time. Other shop said $300-350.

I got to admit it - but this company has some great deals... I got the GT rear, front, grill, fogs, and side skirt for just over 500 delivered to my house. And they were already painted to match...

Maybe you can just return the bumper you got and ask for a refund, may still be cheaper in the long run

I bought front a rear, side skirts and both GT mufflers locally for $500 from a guy that outfitted his GT w/a Saleen kit (same color!).
Rear bumer is about 2 hours for you to do yourself. Somehwere on this site is the step by step instruction to remove. You'll definately need a drill (to remove rivets) and a rivet gun ($20 @ home depot), but take your time and it'll go smoothly. I just did mine on Sunday. 4 nuts and 4 screws is all that holds the bumper to the car!
Now the front may pose somewhat of a challenge...

rear bumper didnt take no where near 2 hours 2 install, lol... and i went 2 home depot 2 times during this cuase im retarded adn got the wrong size nuts and bolts. lol


more like 45 mins to an hour it should take. lolol
