Default Set the Record Straight

Ok, i've got this friend thats going to be getting an 06 Honda Civic SI and he's been saying that he's going to blow the doors off of my mustang when i get mine. I was just wondering if any of you guys have gone up against either an 05 or 06 Honda Civic Si. I can't wait to get a new mustang once i get my old one sold so i can show him up and prove that the SI is just a sticker and doesn't mean crap.

Thanks for all the help

The civic might be light, and a 6 speed, but it's Torque peaks at 139 lb-ft at 6200 rpm. That sucks, you should win a race.

Honda civic SI performance Specs:

0-60: honda claims 6.7 but actual tests reveal 7.2

1/4 mile: 15.1 at 93.8 mph

if you can beat that then you got it made

also these are profesional drivers doing many test and probably power shifting so you will probably smoke your friend

dude 139 at 6200 rpms, that's horrible, man I have 230lbs at 2750 rpms, and I can get any traction, his torque is horrible for the cars performance specs.

My best friend has an 06 CIvic Si. We have run at least 20 times and he has never even once been close to beating me. From a stoplight there is no way in hell he is going to smoke you, from a roll he stands a better chance , specially if you let him set up in their sweet spot (5800rpms). The best the civic has done is 15.4 at 92 with a good Honda driver, when my friend drives it he gets 15.7-15.9. Bottom line is i pull on him hard everytime we race, no matte what the conditions. He really hates it specially since his car was 4 grand more expensive and mine is an auto, jeje. I have driven the civic plenty...u have to drive it like you stole it if u want to go fast in it....the vtec kicks in late at 5500, more or less, all the way to 9 grand, below 5500 the car feels DEAD. From a stop u have to rev it to 4or 5 grand and letting her rip, if u dont it takes foreever to get moving.

Get an xcal before you line up against him just for xtra insurance and you should be OK. Good Luck
