Just going by what the nissan website said dude.

The manual transmission has 300hp and the auto had 287hp along with 260 torque. So yes they would be compared with the GT rather than our V6's. One tried racing me the other day and told him the only way I would go is if he let me use my Zex, even with that it would have been a good race.
what? they are both rated at 300 HP, they will probably dyno differently to the wheels but at the fly the are the same, and yes the Z is just as fast if not faster then a GT

My dad used to have one of those (auto) and i would drive it occasionally. They are pretty freakin fast but unless its a stick with a good driver, i cant see one taking out a GT. Unless it was 04 or older... And as far as handling, i took corners at freakishly high speeds and never even got a squeal out of the tires!

So these things would be considered ricers? cause I saw a few with staggered rims and they werent all riced out and looked pretty sweet.

What the 350z is faster than the GT?? I've never raced one but I always feel like I could take one. Huh I guess not. I heard they were only like 235 at the wheel after the drivetrain? thats not much from 215. Besides all the people with Nissans are screwed on getting inside the computer at least for now they are.

thats why I just want to SC or TC. I want to be in that 280 300hp range too.
haha, right now it looks like the set up of a SC or TC is more expencive than a GT
Not for me lol. I pay GT prices for insurecnce already lol, I'll drop a couple grand cash and slice the rest on plastic in a minute. Besides any V8 motor is out of the question for me for a while cause of my DUI in the past.

I think they are also lighter than a GT, stock, I think they ae 2/10's faster on the 1/4 mile. Do not underestimate them, there are turbo'd 350z's all over the place.

I posted this before in another thread. I have raced against a 350z 2005 track edition (which is the racier version) stickshift. He had exhaust and nitto drags and i was running my current 14.7 set up. We rolled at 10 miles and honked 3 times. As soon as the race started i jumped a car ahead and stayed there till i shfted into 3 , as he did also he went by me and by fourth he was 3 cars ahead of me. After that my friend in his 05 GT 5 speed (13.6 @ 104 ) ripped him a new one. The GT had him from the get go and just continued to pull and pull on him. 350z's are not light cars , my wife has an Altima 3.5 SE 250hp automatic, and i raced a 350 z auto convertible and beat him by a car and a half at least, both cars were stock and the 350 has more HP so since the Altima is no lightweight the 350 has to be a fat pig also. SOmeonelook up their weights, Iam sure they are over 3300 even the lightest models.
I have also raced against a coulpe of twin and single turbos 350 z's with my other car, have won some and have lost some. A couple of them run 10.5's, some do 11.0 -11.4(15lb of boost, NOS,slicks, built engines except for one). Most of the ones that are at 8 pounds of boost on stock engines run 12 lows at 117-118's on street tires.

most of the 350z i see at the track run 13.8 - 14.1 with intake and exhaust. Our cars do that stock. Turbo ones run around 12.5. My auto has never lost to a na z or g35

More or less what i have seen also. In my opinion a 4.0 running mid to high 14s can take out an auto 350 z maye even some poorly driven sticks.

350Z convertible with std trans weigh 3570lb vs our Mustang v6 convertible with 5 spd manual comes in at 3450. The only way to bit him would be in a coupe with Xcal2 and CL cai plus ehaust and 4.10 axle.

the 350z is faster than the GT, also it is better for racing (maneuverability wise)
Funny, at the track they sure aren't, where do you get this info from? Last year at the drag strip I saw 4 350's get handed a loss by stock 5 '05 Mustang GT's, kinda takes the driver out unless all of them stunk, which they didn't.
