holy crap, for just a v6? i got my 05 GT coupe for 24.9
Verts are generally more, and if you got a GT for 24.9, my hat is off to you man. I wish the markup on GT's in my area wasn't 8K.
Rygen same here (nor. CAL) I just happen to stop and check out some new prices today as I was right next to a dealer, mark-up for GT's is 6k, V6's is 3k over msrp, most had a few dealer adds that put the cars another 2-10k on top of dealer mark-up (10k=exhaust and wheels on a GT total sticker 28.7k, after adds 44.7k) the fever has not died for these cars, anybody wanting to buy, either be patient or keep shopping or bite the bullet and buy, this dealer probably had close to 30 mustangs, maybe he would of made someone a deal, but he had a hella lot to play with at these prices

Get the convertible, if you get board with the V6 you can always add a vortech in a year or two when you have the $.
That'll also make it faster than a stock GT

I bought my 05 vert V6 for $22,000 plus tax and license one month ago, MSRP was 26,210. The build date on the car was 4/05 so the car had been on the dealer's lot for a while. Now, I've heard some dealers are discounting the 05 verts up to $5000. Check the build date on your car, it is located in the inner driver's door. You may use this as a negotiating point, "Hey, this car's been here for almost (whatever the build date is) and try to get more of a discount.

I am very sorry to hear about your '66 being totaled.

Perhaps I missed it, but is this 2005 a left-over or used? I paid sticker for mine in May 2005. Sounds like a decent deal if you can get it below MSRP. I definitely recommend the convertible - you won't regret it.

Sounds like a fair price. When pressed (and it's the end of the month for the dealer, AND it's a leftover that he would LOVE to get rid of), the dealer should come down a thousand or so more with little effort on your part. My 05 was purchased with a few miles on it and given what I paid for it, you would do well to get your car for close to the offered price. They'll come down some more, that car is costing them money sitting on the lot. In addition, I'm assuming that you don't have a vehicle to trade, that should improve your ability to deal a bit.

Let us know and if you get it, ENJOY !!!

Were you in Salinas? The local Ford dealer did some crazy markups, because the GTs were Roush editions.
