convertible and louder muffler question

convertible and louder muffler question
OK, I have decided that I am going to add a BORLA muffler to my convertible. I have done the research and listened to the video clips and I like their products. Axle back, NO other mods, just a new muffler. I have already added a K&N filter and that will be it for engine mods also.
My question is, is this going to be too loud for the convertible with the top down? Anyone have any thoughts on this, realizing that my WIFE is not into this like I am and might not enjoy the car if it is too loud. Any problems with getting the car inspected with an aftermarket part (not too worried about this one, don't anticipate a problem). VIRGINIA is an annual safety inspection, my motorcycle with BUBs pipes goes through without an issue.
I'd like to hear some thoughts, the main thrust of the post is the top down issue and the added volume of the muffler.

RE: convertible and louder muffler question
I have a convertible with dual Magnaflows an it sounds great. It's louder than the single stock muffler, but only under acceleration. I haven't driven with the top down yet (crappy Kansas weather); but this week is supposed to be nice and I'll let you know.

RE: convertible and louder muffler question
I have an 06 vert with a axle back Ford Racing setup. It's made by Borla, just with the Ford racing insignia on it. It has a great tone and even with the top down quite pleasant to listen to. My wife loves it and remarked how powerful it sounds.

what about hooker aeroflow and convertible
The muffler tech at the shop here told me this was better than flowmaster for convtibles Not as loud but sounded good and much better air flow. Any opinions? I cant find a sound clip of conv w/ hooker aeroflow yet

You'll have no regrets with the GT take off and the convertible. It will be improved yet pleasant.
It might make you want the second muffler though
