Default Transmision Clunk

I am noticing a clunk coming from underneath when I take off in first gear on my 5 speed Manual. Feels like the driveshaft is taken extra slack or something. I can take off without clunck but have to slip the clutch longer. Works fine in all other gears once I get going. Is it normal for Mustang with 5 speed manual? I was used to front wheel drive Hondas and never heard this clunk. My car only has 800 miles on it and did this from day one.

So sounds like it is supposed to clunk under load when first starting? If I cruise in first and release accelerator it cluncks lightly and once I accelerate in first there is one clunk. Sounds like its coming from transmission but not too sure.

well if you can trace the clunk to your driveshaft, and if it squeaks as you drive, your U-joints are going...
