steering rack limiter
Doing a search on this board to try to fix my problem of the front wheels rubbing, someone posted about the installation of a steering rack limiter to limit the tire movement in front so the front wheels don't rub when turning. Anyone have any experience with this?

RE: steering rack limiter
I spoke with Josh Sadowsky at stangsuspension. He gave me the part number for a small horseshoe washer that Ford builds, it fits in the steering rack and will limit the wheel travel so the front tires don't rub against the frame when turning. This should work as I only need about a quarter inch less during travel so the wheels won't rub.
Ford apparently builds this washer as they use the same steering rack on several different model vehicles and this way they can adjust the wheel travel. Apparently, Steeda also uses this washer so they can use wide front tires.
The part is just around $2, and I've ordered 4, apparently you only need one per wheel, but just in case I ordered extra ones.
The only problem is that he didn't know whether it would fit the new mustangs, it is fine for model year 2004 and previous models. I believe it should fit as I don't see Ford making a major redesign of the steering rack.
One I receive the washers and install them, I will post again. This would be great, as it would very wide tires to fit in the front of the V6 mustangs with only a minimal loss of turning radius.
