Default Kenwood DDX-7017

Just wondering if anyone on this forum has installed this headunit in their car and used the stock speakers? Just curious as to how the sound is? Better, worse, same???

Also, does anyone know how the PIONEER AVIC-D1 NAVIGATION GPS DVD/CD/XM RECEIVER works with out stock speakers??? i remember on some forum i read that either the pioneer or eclipse headunit sounded horrible with our stock setup.

I dont have the model you mention but mine is a Kenwood and likely has the same basic circuity etc. Anyway, I have a Kenwood MP522 and it blows the stock radio away. At first I thought it was the stock speakers that sounded so crappy but it was mostly the radio.

ok just a question for u guys, but where did all of u get ur head units?? Did u buy them lagit. or did u go some other route?

The reason i ask is i bought one of those Ebay auctions for "sites to get head units for $100" and i have some of these sites ( i payed $2)....... they look for real but i'm still skeptical. I was just wondering if any of u went the same route or not.

honestly man.. i wouldnt buy those... i always go with legit headunits.. i mean true you can buy those cheap tft screens with a headunit for like $260 bucks but it just aint worth it.. the quality isnt there.... my friend has a package like that he got from ebay and in my opinion its just plain ugly looking, the screen is sub-par quality, and the headunit is something to be desired ... i plan on getting the DDX-7017 its like $789 brand new off ebay with a 2 yr warranty, wiring, harness, remote, etc. i mean the cheap ones do work and they arent a scam.. but i dont like putting sub-par items in my car..... so its totally up to you.. they are functional and work its just how much money you want to spend

Don't have em on yet....... i think the only thing else you need is some camber bolts....or so i've heard......if i were you i'd have a shop install them and then do the alignment because they have the proper equipment and they know exactly what to look for...... but alignment is the only extra thing i've heard u have to do.
