The others all get stained (Unless you get the charcoal fabric) no matter what your ford dealer says he can spray on them to prevent it. Plus the smell of the car w/leather wears off alot slower than the new car smell of fabric.

I got the leather interior. As long as it doesn't look the vinyl seats I've had in other cars (ripping and tearing easily), then I'll be cool.

Ok i am going to go against everyone else. It is a 7 or 8 on the difficulty scale and can be done in a weekend. It is very hard on the hands but it is not that hard I have done it to my truck and trust me it isn't as hard as it appears. You can go to autoleathers.com and see if they have aftermarket kits out yet. I am pretty sure they do. Also as for someones leather looking crappy after only 5 months. I would have to guess that you have done nothing to take care of it or you have done something wrong in cleaning and caring for it. Leather mus be cared for a certain way or you will destroy it. I would suggest that anyone who is getting leather go to Auotgeek's website and read up on how to take care of leather. I personally use a few different products to care for mine. I use a separate cleaner and then a separate conditioner. Here are a few picture of my truck interior i did. I even modified my seats and cut the arm rests off so i could then mount a larger center console.

I have the cloth right now too, but I still want to go with the leather.
I figure purchase the covers and see if I can get the passenger seat done correctly
and continue the rest of the job, if not I will have them professionally installed.

-GT4RAD, looks like you did a great job with your truck [sm=smiley20.gif]

-pat6674u, since you have already installed the seats your self, I hope you don't mind
me asking a few questions.

Did you install OEM covers or aftermarket covers ?

Do the new covers reattach with "hog-rings" ?

Did you have any problems with not getting the seats to look tight ?

Anyone who may have answers to my questions please feel free to answer!

its like trying to get a condom over a garbage can.
^ That really made me second guess my self lol! ^ [&:]

Did you install OEM covers or aftermarket covers ? OEM from Diversified MArketing Solutions (Only paid $289 for the front and back seats)

Do the new covers reattach with "hog-rings" ? I have no idea what a hog ring is. There were alot of straps and clips that needed to be pulled and stretched and that's what killed your hands.

Did you have any problems with not getting the seats to look tight ? Front seats look awesome. Looks like it came with leather when I bought it. Back seats need work, but I think it is because I have an amp bolted to one seat and a power capcitor to the other. I probably need unbolt both of those and stretch the covers out again. The bottem of the seat looks fine. Make sure if you get them from a company like Diversified that it includes the headrest covers, as those seemed to be an issue. Also, you have to be careful with the palstic seat adjuster on the back of the front seats, it is alot more delicate than it seems. Hopefully you will get the top pad to the front seat included with your cover, as that made putting on the covers alot easier. I'm melodramatic, it was hard but certainly worth it.

As soon as the game is over I'll post a pic of the job.

U-C-L-A Go! Fight! Win!

-Pat

Thank you soo much for the help!!

I have been researching the installation of leather seats for quite some time
now and on LeatherSeats.com they show hog-rings and how they are used.
The straps I think I will be able to deal with. I might go ahead and purchase the seats now.
Just a whole lot of patience and determination! lol

Also, I too looked at the Diversified Marketing take offs.
How did you go about getting headrests?

That company has 2 auctions. The BIN auction included the headrests. They actually forgot to send them to me but corrected the error after I contacted them and sent them right out.

Here are the picks! Bruins sinking fast

I know my stock covers had hogrings and they are a PITA to remove pretty simple to install new ones. Best tool for removing them is a two needle nose pliers.. Although my new leatehr covers did not require any.

Pat667 those look good.
