gas mileage

RE: gas mileage
The way I understand it, cai takes in more air and the tune compensates with adding more fuel. So does that mean gas mileage goes down or does the tune burn it all more efficiently too? What have you found since adding the mods?

RE: gas mileage
Mine stayed about the same also, but I am happy with that since I have the Evolution Performance 93 Octane tune in ... figured I would have to give up a little for the Performance tune, and am happy to stay the same. LOTS and LOTS of fun

RE: gas mileage
I think I'd get greater mileage with the intake and 92 octane performance tune... but, the gears keep me nearly even... Perhaps ever so slightly better than stock - about 19-20 mpg on the winter mix of gas here in Oregon.

RE: gas mileage
I'm still on my second fill of 87 octane and have been getting 19-20mpg. I would imagine mpg would be slightly better with 91 octane. my first mod will probably be gt muff then intake tube/tune. I love the mpg around 20 since i'm coming out of an F150 super crew with the 4.6l getting around 12mph!

RE: gas mileage
It depends. If you go from 87oct without tune and then go to 93 with a tune you should get better or the same gas mileage although you are spending more for the better quality gas. So no tune/87 octane=cheaper. I'd guess that if you ran stock tune with 87 octane vs custom tune with 87 octane the mileage with the custom tune would be slightly less.
