I'm guessing you mean the Challenger, and yeah it was there too! I totally agree with you, the Challenger looked like it was ready for production. It had some bell and whistle stuff too, but it looked much closer to reality. Plus Dodge already has the chassis for it, and the drivetrain. I wouldn't be surprised to see it as an '08 model. It looked BIG! It was sitting by itself on a turntable, but it certainly appeared to be much larger than the Mustang.

I think the new Camaro looks sweet. Now Im not trying to make enemies, but if my finances permit in 2+ years from now that it comes up I would definitely be up for a trade in, pending what the diffrences are from the concept.

Well, the v6 Camaro (last gen) has a 3800 series II 200hp engine. The Mustang v6 would smoke the Camaro

BTW there is no such thing as a "new" Camaro yet. It's just a concept and it looks very far to production.
GM dumped their 3800 II engine and I have no clue what engine replaced it.
Haven't bought GM in 3 1/2 years.

the may 2006 motortrend did a "PONYCAR WAR!" article to compare the 06 v6 and gt mustang vs the new camaros as they are supposed to come out (everything with the camaro isnt written in stone). They used some really expensive computer program, im too lazy to read back through and find it, but it seems to be extremely accurate as they ran the specs of the gt through it and got very close to what they got when they actually drove it. It shows the specs for the v6's and they look pretty bad for the mustang. Here they are.

The camaro has 240 hp and 240 lb ft. We all know the mustang has 210 and 240. The camaro also has 3.91 gears from the factory so that helps them out. well the camaro does 0-60 in 6.2 while the mustang came back as 6.8 in the program. And the camaro got a 14.5 quarter while the mustang got a 15.1.

As for the v8's, they didnt show any times which really pisses me off. I reccomend you guys all go out and get this issue because it has alot of information comparing the two. If you have any questions about them its all here, so ask me, i just dont have the time to write it all out right now.

I saw it too! The concept has a carbon fiber body! It has to, it sits on the Charger frame and if they don't lighten the body, it will be heavy as hell and be like the Charger. Lot of power, crappy ET's. Exculding the SRT8 of course.

thats what I thought. and the progections for a 400 hp ls2 (i think) powered v8 model is a little far fetched.... at least for the prices they are talking. For everything they are trying to do with this car they will murder themselves unless they price the car at 10k over the GT. I predict that the production model will be a whole lot tamer than the concept with maybe the 400hp SS or something.

I doubt that V6 engine will make it into production, something people tend to forget about when discussing future power is the restraints environmentalism plays. The manufactures have guidelines as to how little of fuel economy they can put out, so many of their models have to be so much above 30mpg, etc. etc. So unless they start making mopeds to compensate for a v6 with 240hp, and 3.91 gears, I doubt it'll happen. Of course, who knows what technology and DOD stuff will bring in the future...

i wonder if they'll start cutting off half the engine (like on some new v8's) at cruise on the sixesin the future? lol you'd be running a geo metro engine at 70 mph! lol
