This may be a stupid question but what is the legal tint in California. I just got my new baby a week ago and would like to get the windows tinted. She’s a V6 Premium, Tungsten Grey, Pony package with IUP. I live in El Centro, CA, which is 2 hours east on San Diego in the desert, so it gets hot here in the summer and tinting would help a lot. Also if any one knows of a good place to get the tinting done, I don’t mind driving a few hours to have it done. I don’t trust any one local.

As far as I know, you can have the rear window and the two rear side windows tinted, but not the windshield or the doors. Your best bet is to check in with the DMV.

i have 30 % all the way around. live near long beach. the only prob i have ever had was onmy way to san jose by a CHP they hate tint up north. all ok except windshild and driver and pass door windows. rear and quarters ok as dark as you want.

Thanks alot guys, I think I'll just stay away from the tint for now. I just don't think it would look right with only the rear windows tinted.

just tint all the windows. worst you get is a fix it ticket.
