Back before I had my duals put on I took off my muffler to cut out the holes for my saleen exhaust tips and then drove it home without the muffler on(was taking it to the shop at 8:00 the next morning so why put it back on?). The car sounded AWESOME without a muffler on. The idea I have in mind is getting my local shop to fab up some short turn down pipes and straight pipes, and then cut out a section of my exhaust piping where I can clamp these in place. That way I could easily have the loud throaty sound I like so much when I have the turn downs clamped on and when I wanted a quieter sound I could clamp back in the straight pipes so that the exhaust would again be routed through my mufflers. Attached is a little drawing I did in paint a min ago to show you what I'm talking about. Oh and for those of you concerned with back pressure...theres was no change in performance that I could feel without the muffler being on.

dont see why it wouldnt work. just alot of going under the car depending on your mood. still tho... would be nice to see something different.

Wouldn't be changing it too often. I would only change it if I was going to go on a long trip or get an inspection.

omg!!! had no idea anything like this existed! Definately going to have to get a couple of these! I'm wondering though if I should put glasspacks on and then have these installed after them for that really low growl.
