The only reason they are 197 now instead of 210 is due to the new rating standards i thought.
just about every imported car's hp numbers went down when they started rating them SAE.

Most imports went down, some like the Accord went up but most cars did go down in chp numbers, anyway the 05-06 type-S that was rated under the old system at 210 is now rated at 201...so under the old system the SI would be higher probably, but so would the Mustang most likely.

Nice run!

On paper, the 0-60 and quarter mile are very comparable to our rides. An intake and good tune should ensure ya don't get caught by a stock civic si.

Quoted for truth man!

Never mind the the "lower brand" Honda Civic Si gets navigation and the lsd standerd while the "higher brand" and priced about 4k more Acura RSX type-S doesn't...grrrr, no wonder Hondas rumored to be killing the RSX from the Acura lineup.

I did 15.5 at 89 driving my friends 06 SI at the track. You have to drive it like you stole it to get anything out of it, having no torque sure does suck..if u are out of the vtech zone it feels like your hauling a trailer, lol.

the SI has 210hp at the crank.. the only thing he lacks on us is torque.. but i give vtec its credit (i -vtec in his case) its like a small boost above a certain rpm
197 actually, I had a k20a2 RSX-S and that is basically the same engine as the k20z3 the Si uses, but you're right in that the i-vtec mechanism gives a nice boot in proformance when it hits at 5500, and they're light, but the no tourque because of the small n/a engine, and fwd, really inhibits them. The new Si does have an lsd, which the RSX didn't, so that helps the launch a little.

*gets dizzy and falls down* friggin imports and ur crazy numbers for engines!

Watch out for the new golf GTI equipped with a good driver (not very likely) will beat one of our stock sixers
