I have listened to dozens of sound clips and choosing a muffler seems to be a crap shoot. I have always had V8 cars and would like this car to sound as close to one as possible. I don't think I am going to upgrade much with performance but would like a nice, deep sounding exhaust with little drone...nice sound when on the gas hard but mild on the interstate...

I have considered the mac ss single and the jba as they are very affordable on Ebay.

What are you running in a single application that gives you what I am looking for?

I have heard that the flowmasters sound the closest thing to a V8 would give you. To get as close as possible to a V8 sound you would need to go with cat-back exhaust and an x-pipe.

You will never sound like a V8, or even close to it with a single muffler. Now with true duals, you can get close, but you will never sound like a V8 Mustang.

Guess its not worth the expense to try....thanks for all the input. Worst fear is it sounding like a fart can.

I am missing my 70 Chevelle and 69 Camaro...both with headers, duals and flowmaster 40's!

if you go with a dual prochamber set up and some nice flomasters you can get pretty close. or an h pipe would be almost as deep. then an X pipe a little higher pitched. and then a Y pipe is even higher (still not sounding like rice just like a nice 6) you wont get close with a single. but you cant get a v8 sound with a six anyway.

i say if you have a v6 then theres no way you can compair it to a v8
get a sick exhaust system and make it sound deep but make it sound
like a badass v6
thers no need to compair our cars to v8 because they are not in that category

youmay never sound like a v8 stang, but you can sound like a v8. my car is much louder and deeper than my friends 5.7L hemi.....with banks exhaust..
