Default TQ Converter for Auto V6

Just got off the phone with Paul (PHP), was placing a call into them for MSP. And just out of chance, I asked if he had a stall converter for our cars. He said in fact, he does and in two weeks, it will be ready. Said that they tested it and it shaves 2/10's off the line on thier times.

So in two weeks, I'm calling them back! And he will be at Norwalk, so hopefully I can meet him then.

I'm pretty sure he said 3000. He took the call from the shop, noisy as hell. In two weeks, it will be available and we will know the official story. I called because I heard they have a 11.6 second V6 with a Vortech! Amazing.

The torque convertor converts the rotation of the engine crankshaft into rotation of the transmission by using tranny fluid in an impellor.as the input side rotates it rotates the output side. The torque convertor couples and transfers torque to the transmission. Without this you could not sit at a stoplight without putting the car in neutral. The idle of the engine is below the rated stall speed. When you press the gas you are raising the engine above the stall speed and the car moves. On a drag car, you want a higher stall speed to launch at higher rpms to put the engine in its optimum powerband at launch if it is a high revver. If you do not raise the stall speed on this type of car and you try to launch the car at higher rpms, the brakes may not hold and you could redlight or to say it another way, you would be powerbraking at the tree. Not good.

Rygen,

The 11.6 you mentioned, was that done in the 12.8 car on PHP's site?

WallyJ
