How difficult is it to change diff gears yourself? Can I just do it by removing Diff cover or do I need to pull the axle?

Pull the diff cover, bearing caps, c clips, axles, differential, sepearte the gear from the diff, pullin the pinion, setting pinion depth, reinstalling everything else, setting backlash, etc etc etc.

so unless you know EXACTLY what ur doiin, dont even attempt it, will just result in a headache and higher cost.

all 6ers have 3.31 gears with a open diff
auto GTs have 3.31s and 5 speeds have 3.55s with a t-lok

also, do not attempt to install gears unless you have alot of experience, if you dont set the backlash right you will destroy the gears

they do not make 3.55 gears for the 7.5, they make 3.45s or 3.73s, as they also do not make 4.30s

ORIGINAL: BlueStang6

For daily drivers the 3.73s are better with manual trannies. 4.10s for auto. You'll only be in 1st for about 10 feet with 4.10s and a manual trannie!
manual tranny OD ratio .68, auto .70, a nemerically OD ratio will give you lower RMPs
