i have a mod for those peeps who are like me, and love the stang but have a few issues with the location of the shifter stalk. if your like me and have long legs then you will notice that the shift stalk gets further out as the seat rolls back. for me it was an issue because fifth gear required me to lean forward a hair. i needed to move or else if i moved the seat id hit the steering column. if you fall into this catagory then this is my gift to you. anyway, first order of business, undo the shift **** and remove the shift boot. notice that the base of the stalk is much wider then the actual part the **** twists into. you will also notice that the base has a angle to it that faces the driver side. once you got the proper orientation, head under the car and locate the transmission arms. its a square rod with a nut attached to it. remove the nut and seperate the rod from the eye on the stalk. head back into the car and you will notice that now the stalk can freely rotate. this is the time to make your switch. rotate the stalk 180 degrees and if done rite you will see that the angled base is now facing the passenger side. get under the car again and re-install teh rod and nut. after that install the **** and boot and you will notice that the stalk has now been moved almost a 1/2 inch closer to teh driver. thats a 1/2 less your arm will travel and i love this easy and FREE mod. enjoy and i hope i helped someone.
