gas fill problem
I just tried to fill up ($3.26/ga regular!) and was on dead empty; I got about 7 gal. in and the pump kept shutting off. Anyone else having this type of prob? It also happened once before. I haven't seen any TSB on it.

RE: gas fill problem
Mine only does it when the nozzle has the spring/shock type things on them. Where you haft to push and hold the nozzle in, other than that its fine. Yea the guy at my dealership said that his F-250 does it all the time too.

RE: gas fill problem
mine is after the TSB build date and if leave it get to empty i have this problem also around half tank... ? i just stop there and run it down to 1/4 tank and then it fills up all the way without any problems. I tried this twice after it happened and the same thing happens when filling at about half tank. I just dont let it run down on fumes anymore And haven't had any fill problems... ?

RE: gas fill problem
I had the same problem, there is a TSB concerning the problem, they say the fuel sensor is to sensitive and they are redesigning it and it will be a recall, in the meantime you have to leave the nozzle out a little for the first couple of gallons to allow the air to get out of the tank then you can put the nozzle in all the way, seems to work haven't had any problems lately

RE: gas fill problem
Havent had this problem with my stang but I had a taurus that did the same thing. Never bothered to take it in. It would only fill to 3/4 tank everytime. I thought at first i most have dented my tank somehow but there was nothing wrong. I hope my stang doesnt start doing that.

RE: gas fill problem
I had the same problem. I took my stang in to the dealer, there was other issues as well, a popping sound right front axle, as well as the shaker 500 was telling me my perfectly good CDs were a BAD DISK. They provided me a rental, free if course and they were finished with the car in a couple hours. The only hassle was dealing with the 20 minute fuel ups, popping front end and ejection of perfectly good CDs. The dealer was great!
