Seems most everybody does both at the same time. Anybody out there do ONLY the high octane tune? Was it worth the effort?

I'd be interrested to know as well since there is no point buying a CAI if you plan to go with certain superchargers.

i recently installed my zex nitrous kit and have been running on 75 hp jets, which requires stock timing... so i have no use for my CAI + xcal II tune right now that is. But i did get 2 tunes for the stock airbox from Lidio and it definitely still makes a worlds difference to the cars transmission ( auto ) , shift points, and torque management and throttle lag.

I have just the SCT X2 with a 93 octane tune and it's deffinitely a big difference. I too didn't want to get a CAI because of just having to replace it if I get a blower.

i did the sct2 as my first mod alone as well. Ran a 14.91 in the quarter mile with the canned 91 octane tune, everything else stock (even crappy tires)

I'm leaning toward just getting a good tune myself...I read a write up someone posted on a 4.0 dynoed after each mod...and the guy found out that a good tune with a drop in k&n gave the same gains as a tune with a full cai... everyone is going to jump on me for saying it though.....I just think all the gains really come from tunes and not the cai
