Ford Racing + Warranty?

RE: Ford Racing + Warranty?
I had the ford racing t-lok and 3.73 gears put in by local ford dealership, the service advisor told me ford parts, ford install, ford warrenty. This is the repair warrenty, not new car warrenty. If you have a item repaired by ford, that item is covered by ford's repair warrenty.
You'll love the t-lock.... just make sure you order for the7.5" rearend, and get the yukon master install kit, that way you will have all the shims, bearings, seals ect to do a complete setup. The extra parts are not normally stocked for the 7.5" rearend and you might get held up if the service tech needs something. Ford racing gears are pre-honed in, but are also heat treated much harder than oem gears. they will whine alittle at first 1-2K miles to break in. You will have to use one of the tuners to change your gear ratio to correct your speedo.
My ford dealership didn't baulk at all on putting the t-lock in, the gears were a concern, but after checking with factory rep, was told this a solid setup in ranger pickups and no problem with it for the mustang. Only concern was with drive shaft, was told if having problems they would replace it under warrenty. That the change in gearing and t-lock should not cause failure in drive shaft, but they were having problems in 2005, changed design for 2006 model, seams to have fixed it. I've had no problems so far.. Good luck with the mod
