Pony package is a technical bargain

Pony package is a technical bargain
I don't know why all V6's aren't ordered with the Pony package, assuming most people want the anti-lock brakes and the spoiler/stripe, or maybe not the stripe...whatever. I've looked at a lot of window stickers on Ford Direct for the past few months, and at least 2/3 of the V6ers I've seen have both ABS and the spoiler. I've only come across two pony package cars on lots, so there' aren't many of them around where I live at least.
The pony package is $1195. It includes the anti-lock brakes and exterior sport appearance stuff-usually $775 + $295 MSRP bux. So for a lousy extra $125 MSRP bux, you get the pony grill with fogs, the GT wheel/tires, the GT front/rear sway bars, custom aluminum insert floor mats, and all the pony badges.
I can't believe the dealers wern't loading up on this option. I guess the Pony package owners will appreciate that someday.

RE: Pony package is a technical bargain
That sucks! When I bought mine in Oct 05 (it's an 06) they didn't have that package and I ended up spending $1200.00 on the GT takeoff stuff from Saleen. And I still don't have ABS or rear sway bar! Crap, I wish you hadn't posted this! Oh well, I love my Stang and I like the GT fog lights better anyway.

My car actually came with ABS, 17" bullits and Pirellis, but I'm pretty sure there is no extra sway bar. Don't like the fog lights on either the GT or the Pony package. I really like the Cobra bumper with the lower mounted fogs, but that's $500-600 I just don't have. I'll just have to be happy with my C&L and SCT from Evolution coming tomorrow.

RE: Pony package is a technical bargain
I wanted a Pony Package car, but couldn't find one in my area (I searched in a 100 mile area).
Then a friend of my girlfriend got a California Edition Pony Package a month after I got my Stang, and he found it on one of the lots I checked; they had "just got it in".[:@]
Oh well, I like my car just fine.

the dealers and Ford both probably make more money on non-pony package cars because the buyer doesn't benefit from the "discount" of buying the package.
That's probably why they order them with the ABS/Traction control/Ext. Sport Package instead...

I wish the Pony Package was avaliable when I bought mine.
I would have saved a heck of a lot of money [&o]

Next step is the pony grille, which I hope to get soon.
