Default Mustang And Prelude

Would anyone happen to know if a stock 2006 V6 Mustang would win against a 2000 Honda Prelude VTEC?

EDIT: Both of the cars being Stick Shifts

From a dig, stock for stock, I have no doubt that we can take a ~2000 Prelude. They seem to pull a mid-high 15 second ET.

2001 Honda Prelude:
200HP @ 7000RPM
156TQ @ 5250 RPM
Weight: 3217 pounds

2005 Mustang V6
210HP @ 5300 RPM
240TQ @ 3500 RPM
Weight: ~3477 pounds

On the track I pulled 15.1 with stock tires at full psi, spare tire in the trunk, and my first time at a track. I can't hook up to well on the track. On the street I know I could have pulled a 14.9 at least. It should be good race.

I dont think that curb weight for the prelude includes the huge wing and the 100lbs of vinyls/stickers that every prelude seems to have on em these days.

Be warned, each one of those stickers adds 5 bhp and the wing itself is good for at least 30bhp.

Joking aside, if the drivers are a non-factor, I think the stang would edge it out because of the higher torque numbers. Hondas/Acuras w/ VTEC don't pull hard until about 4.5k-5k rpms. If you can establish a lead on one through first and second before 3 and 4 are streched out then you'll probably keep that lead.

My friend has a stock RSX type S, when we were both stock, the cars ran about the same. Mine had more torque, but his was lighter. Now that I've got bolt on mods (and a short throw), I can edge him out pretty easily.

After a few more embarrasing races for him we both pulled over and talked and he kept saying "Yeah, my 3rd piston has been having problems, for some reason it wont let me go fast, im trying to get it fixed but its expensive." ....... right.... ok...... your car sux..... i really didnt say that but i was thinking it

Shoul've gone for the jugular and replied, "no, I think the reason your car won't go fast is that it's a Honda Prelude."
