RE: removing the rear emblem
Done. I did everything but final base and clear. Awesome mod. ...only seen a couple online so far. Here's mine, not a great pic but you get the idea; IMO especially clean with spolier delete.

RE: removing the rear emblem
Thanks so much. I'm going to be getting some prof digital pics soon. The flame design, color blending, blue pinstripe outline and clearcoat is just beyond description. It's been a couple months now and everytime I go into the garage and throw the light switch I just can't believe the "artistry". I have a chin spoiler that is a second bumper cover that I'm doing in the same yellow that starts the flames and also I think I'm gonna do my original bumper in yellow at the same time. (I had left it black cause neither the painter nor I thought a yellow bumper was right; but now I'm confident it is) here's a pic of chin spoiler nose that I hope is gonna get painted in the next few days. thanks again!! ...Jim

RE: removing the rear emblem
Yeah, I zip tied the lock up inside the inner cover. Course removed the fake gas cap. Removed the decklid from the car (easy and no alignment to put back); welded in the two small holes from the ornament and the larger lock hole. yup, put the welder to the car the first week; only 12 miles on the car. ...welded in the GT fender holes and antenna too. So on the decklid after welding, some grinding to pretty smooth; light surface fill with Evercoat polyester glaze. I had the custom painter block sand all my work just to be sure it was perfect (in his eyes too); ...don't try the welding unless you are experienced with todays thin sheetmetal; it is so easy to shrink/warp it. If you're not confident, just let a seasoned pro do it. I knew I was going to shave everything I did and do flames, and smooth and paint the mirrors when I first ordered the car; I'll tell you what I ended up with even exceeded the vision I had for a year as I waited for my 05 order (cancelled) then my 06 to arrive for Christmas. Oh here's another guy; I think the only other one I've see besides the ChipFoose Overhaulin stang that has the decklid cleaned up. This one is black also and has spoilier delete as well. Looks exactly like mine; better photography too. Any specific questions on that aspect of the project just let me know. I will say if I bought an 07 (keeping mine of course) I'd get the orange and shave everything same as I did and mirrors too. (no flames no stripes though) ...maybe I'll just wait and see what the Challenger does for me (lol)
P.S. you know a few people have said to me. "How can you weld up the body on this car, do such radical mods to it? " hmmmm.... don't they realize I can add those three holes back and return the lock and ornament to their original locations in probably a little over an hour. Drilling a hole is easy... filling one in... well that's the BIG DEAL... ...well not really. That back panel is a distinct panel area; color match wouldn't be an issue even in silver metallic. Go for it!!!!
