what sounds like noises behind the dash
Excuse the stupid question if this becomes one.....I have two 2006 mustangs one black and one red. One the black one I went with cheaper muffler and put a IMCO muffler (Axle back is I believe the non-noobs call it). After putting on the muffler I started hearing a pinging noise come what sounded like from behind the dash, but only when my rpms where between 2000 and 3000 while in motion. Took it to several ford dealerships to see what they thought and most told me don't worry about it its just gas ping...well 91 oct and some oct booster did not fix the problem(I didn't just put the higher octane in just once). Still don't know what it is. On the red mustang I just got a few weeks ago I decided to not go as cheap and I went with the flowmaster 40 series and it does the same thing as the black one now. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

no idea on the noises behind the dash, unless you are talkin bout drone, which is hard to describe unless you know what it is. But a good tip is never ever ever put octane booster in your car.

I haven't done it with the red one I figure as many problems as I have encountered on the black one I will sell it. Is there any way to get rid of a drone sound

MINE DOES... and some had done a post about it awhile back and about 4-5 people responed with the same issue... the ford dealer couldnt find it i think..... if you can tell when i registered on the site that is when the post started..

just be like.. i dont like.. find out whats wrong with it
but then it will cost you a service fee for soemone to find the problem
if the problem is found everything will be covered under warrenty if not y our stuck paying that fee

I get that same rubbing sound in the corners of my dash...Had it since it was new. Can the dealer fix this?? I HATE ALL INSIDE NOISE SUCH AS RATTLES AND RUBBING, and i am looking at getting flowmaster super 40's what else should i do to have no drone and make sure no rattle occur.
