Default what are you getting for MPG

This is a question for the stangs with the IUP that tells you your MPG and Litres per 100km (for us canadians)

Right now I am getting a sad 23 MPG or 10.4 Litres per 100 km and that is Highway.....My car has 650 Miles on it and its all stock except for the Drop in K&N air filter....So is this normal or am I driving it wrong? lol I use cruise control and keep it in 5th gear...its 60km of flat highway to work every morning...granted its been a bit windier then usual here but still..I was told these cars could get 30MPG on the highway.

What is everyone else getting?

No one in the US advertises 30MPG for this car more like 26. That said, somewhere in the manual it says not to try and guage your gas mileage until after "x" miles because of the break in period. It's either 1000 or 3000 miles.

21.4 all city driving. Figured by dividing miles traveled by gallons put in.

I don't have the IUP thingy, but I chart my mileage closely. I've just completed the 1600km break-in period, and my five-tank average has been 12.17 L/100km (or roughly 23 Imperial MPG). The manual recommends not keeping track until after the break-in, so I'm hoping for slightly better mileage in future. My driving is mostly 70-90 km/h (45 -55 mph) using mostly 3rd or 4th gear, with occasional stops.

With gas prices on the rise, I know I made the right decision regarding V8 vs V6.

With the break in period as you say being 1600 Km do you have to drive it extra careful as well?

I've got the IUP and I average 22 MPG with mostly city driving. On the highway when I really try I can get 30.

Drive it like you stole it

I'm getting 19.5 city/hiway mixed. 6k miles on the speedo.

Gas is cheap ! When I was pumping gas at night, going to school during days, (1973) gas was 29cents a gallon. Adjusted for inflation it should be around $3.50 a gallon here in midwest. Min wage was $1.25 and cig's cost $2.90 carton.

Oh yea and the car I drove, a 1950 chevy w/327 V8 and a 3 speed manul on foor was getting about 8 mpg.

Your doing great on the gas milage, don't let all the hand wringers tell you otherwise.
