Default v6 dual exhaust PROBLEM

hey guys
before i go and rip some new a holes, i thought i'd ask a few quick questions.

if i'm putting on dual gt mufflers will this cause me to lose back pressure without an h or x pipe? the shop i went to told me i don't need either but should upgrade to flowmasters to maintain pressure. and that the gt mufflers aren't designed to work with the 6.

i've also heard that straight duals on a 6 without the h/x sounds like a civic. true?

that's all for now. any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

first off, no your ride wont sound like a civic. the car has 2 more cylinders then a 'vic and teh sound regaurdless is diff so no worries. im no expert on tis but the GT exhaust will work fine if your just using the pax side exhaust. in fact a large amount of peeps use this exhaust rather then going out and buying another one from who knows where. the dual is a double edged sword though. if you put duals on a stock 6 you actually loose a little power.as you raise teh bar in the hp then a dual would be alot better suited. you wanna open her up enough to free up power but not so much it has the opposite effect. 2.5 is the norm for most cars to reach the optimum power and duals work better for the higher hp car. not to discourage you but alot of peeps would agree you would hurt yourself if you did both.

ok first it wont sound like a civic......it will sound like two of them sitting side by side revving LMAO.
seriously i DID it. it is terrible!
once the h is in its great!
you will hurt yourself (very slightly) in the low rpms (below 3000) but then you get more over 3000. its worth it. after my exhaust i floor it in second, it hits 3500 rpms and my tires spin. I like that. dont know about you, but mine didnt do it before....

not sure why everyone thinks duals lose power. The highest dyno numbers for cars weve seen on here (n/a) were those cars with duals. austin hit 202rwhp on his auto with just the C&L, dual exhaust and tune. and that was with the detroit truetrac and 4.10 gears. (which lowers hp, but raises torque). Rick hit 213rwhp on his manual trans with duals and less mods than me, and i have 212.5rwhp with only single.

Yea I hate how everyone thinks that!! You get good gains, especially through the high rpms.

Yup, which is why i hope to be duals within the next couple weeks. just tryin to decide on which mufflers i want. Dont think i want to do the mrt's on both sides, would just be insanely loud.
