The new skyline
what do you guys think about the new gtr from nissan? I just read an artical on it and it sounds INSANE! so far its supposed to be a 3.8 liter twin turbo v6 with the attesa awd that the old previous skylines had (its upgraded don't worry) and its going to have a seven speed. Most people are predicting between 4 and 500 horsepower. I don't know about you guys, but that sounds like a vette killer to me. I WANT ONE.

It is still shocking that the Nissan flag ship is going to be sold here in the US.
I think it is great, the more super cars come to these shores, the better selection we as consumers will have overall.
Way to go Nissan!

While I don't care for the looks, it makes mad power. Lets see how well it puts it to the ground, but the Skyline is no joke. It's in the same class as the TT Supra and is a car not to be messed with. I agree that its a good thing for it being here, the more the better. It will force Ford and other domestic car makers to step it up a notch. Though I noticed a trend of US car companies just buying competitor car companies outright, so not sure how much competition we can expect.
But one thing is clear, the HP wars are full on again.

On a television show (not sure which one it was) the skyline beat the porsche 911's track time!! How many cars can claim to that!! With 500 all wheel drive turbo power i believe this car will kill just about everything stock in its path, with the exception of your few higher priced cars. I cant wait to see the asking prices and one in person.

just so you know, it costs like 40k+ to get a r34 skyline... USED. And in stock form (they detune them to meet our emissions) they are a mid 14 second car. whats so impressive about that? Now, you can put a lot of money in an r34, on the stock block, and put down 850whp, and thats cool and all, but it still looks like ****.

RE: The new skyline
I read an article back in march about this. The prediction was it would put out 460 hp. As for styling, it looks more like a G35/350Z hybrid. It's worlds better looking than the previous skylines, still don't quite like the looks, but it's definitely nothing to sneeze at. It will be priced a little bit lower than the new C6 and on paper it looks as though it'd blow it away.
