Default Engine Swap for V8?

I was considering swapping my V6 for the 4.6L V8 in the 05 GT's. How could I get my hands the engine, and about how much do you think it would cost. We it be cheaper than putting a turbo or supercharger on mine?

With the amount of money it'll cost you for the engine and labor, you could get so many power mods for your 6 that the only thing that could beat you would be a modded 8.

a HIGHLY modded 8, a 4.6 is gonna run u 3-4 k USED, then ur gonna need tranny, computer, have it installed, motor mounts(?) labour = 10 hours at LEAST at 150 an hour = WOW THATS ALOT OF MONEY!

Get ur v6 built up and be a "sleeper", then smoke anything that trys to pull you.

just my 2 pennies worth

haha actually if i was gonna do an engine swap i would never bother witht the 4.6

u would throw something in there that was a little more stout
like a 351 or even a 427 if you got the ***** to make it fit

take my advice and mod the v6
take that 6 grand and do a supercharger and heads and cams and pistons
you would prob be somewhere int eh 400 range
i dunno how long the motor could take this though

are you all insane? If you are gonna do a swap you should definately get the 04 cobra motor!!! you would be running mid-low 12's! it would be damn expensive though. You would definately need around 10 grand, but god would that be amazing.

Actually im dropping in a 427, because my plans for this car have changed with a bonus of 7figures . Still love the look of the mustang but now have the money to drop in a 427 and then get a huge F&F style blower. As soon as its done i will put pics!
