Default CAI & Xcal install question

Just recieved my CAI...got my xcal on Monday. Getting ready to do my install...anyways I've got like half a tank to 3/4th of a tank of 87 octane...so for now should I just do the 87 tune and then reflash when I get gas again, or would it be allright to do like the 91 octane tune and just use up the rest of this 87 on that??

Also the xcal says to remove the fan and fuel pump fuses prior to flashing...Is that actually necesary? no biggy really, just curious.

Thanks

you do not need to pull the fuses..

I would load the 87 tune...

not necessary to remove the fuses on the 05's.

As for gas, I would run the majority of the 87 out before tuning. I have slightly less then 1/4 tank of 87 right now, hopefully by the end of the night, i'll be near E and will fill up with 93 while my wallet says ouch!

In a related question. Where exactly does the xcal2 plug in? Is it directly under the steering wheel, or is it more over where the hood release is? Its pourign out, so I don't feel like searching right now, heh.

it's under the sterring wheel and to the left just a little, basically above where your left knee would be

It's right there in the top left of the picture. See it? The silver thing.

A wider shot to show it in relation to the steering wheel.
