I guess I should clarify.....

This is the 3rd time that I have taking it in to the dealer for tranny noises.....

Overgear noises are noises that sound "like" something in the gears is rubbing against them "metal like rubbing / friction".

The earliest diagnosis "Normal Noise".

Now, louder noises, vibration in drivetrain, overgear noise, leaking (in back of tranny very visible), extreme difficulty going into first / reverse (getting worse)..etc, etc,etc........

I am pretty confident that they can not say .....(normal noise).

I am not sure whether they will fix/rebuild or replace, but I am very confident that they are not just doing a visual on it this time.

Once they open the tranny (causing labor charges ) they will at least follow procedures on TSB for manual trans for the same symptoms (sorry don't have number), the dealer will not "eat" the charges ...trust me.

And yes, The car is still under "extended warranty".

My dealer had to call in two engineers for the same transmission problem!
One of the plates in the transmission is barely rubbing the inside of the case when it gets hot!

if its under warrenty why would you get charged at all?

My second point / question is my transmission makes noises as well going from first gear to second and sometimes third. Its not a rubbing noise, its more like a knocking noise. It happens if I dont do a perfectly smooth shift and the car rocks a bit...Was that the same noises you got in the beggining?

No Erdrickk, the knocking sound is "Mustang Normal" ....... driveshaft catching the slack (sometimes trying to shift too carefully/ slowly will cause it).

As far as paying, we are refering to the dealer's willingness to perform warranty work if it is not 100% sure possitive and without question that the problem is that of the TSB......

For example and issue is addressed in a TSB, the dealer performs work (opens up the engine).... if the Issue ends up being discovered as a "normal noise" the dealer will have to "eat" the labor charges...... can not be invoiced as warranty work..... or TSB compliance.

The tank is a replacement (there is a TSB) for gas filling issues (backwash causes the punp to shut off prematuraly).
how much is this costing you, because i am having the same problem.
i get the tank filled like half way and then the pump shuts off.
