What do those tuners actually do to a stock vehicle? I see those ads for Predator, Excalibur etc.: “will unleash the full potential“….?? I guess on an automatic they can change the shift points but on manual is there a point of getting one without any mods done first???

Default RE: Tunners

They can also...

1. Give you better throttle response.... the new Stang is fly by wire, so the engines actual response to pedal position is controlled by software
2. Change timing so that the engine can more fully combust high octane fuel, leading to better torque and more HP.
3. Change curves to make use of higher air flow from a cold air intake if you get one (and you should)

I am sure others will chime in with other upgrades. Obviously if you are running any sort of FI, that will require significant changes as well.

But... use one of the well known tuners who actually dynos V6 mustangs.... I use Evolution Performance, and there are several others that folks like such as Alternative Auto, Brenspeed, Bamachips, etc. See the ads on the top and right side.
