Daily driver beasts..
some one here posted a good topic asking about the Stang as a daily driver car. Right now I won't even step in another car or accept any lifts,(I offer lifts now) and look for any excuse to drive somewhere...I did want to ask this questions to out V6 big shots though, Mr Rygen and "Hunny" if they drive their Turbo, super Charged, x-charger beasts everyday, are they guzzling alot of gas now though??? + how much heavy modding can the 4.0s take without taking a toll on shortening their engine life????? I had good experiences with ford engines had a 89 Ford Tempo that drove over 300,000 miles on it and the engine was still good when I got rid of it....and have a 92 Escort with over 200,000 which still keeps going...and Im thinking if I decide to mod the 4.0 with some heavy power adders how will the engine take it in the long run.......

my car is my DD i drive it every day just took it to the dentist. it get better milage than my wifes windstar and that cost me 67 bucke today to fill up for her. my buddy at ford just called me and asked if i could come in and bolt down the tire machine tomnarrow. ill take my hammer drill and some wrenches. to the dealership. ha now she is my service vehicle. that way i dont have to trad my son for my ranger. so yea i love this car. also beastang and i are going to install his shifter on thursday then go to Irwindale again.

Rygen has said that he can drive around town and not get into the boost. So not only would it not hurt your gas mileage, you won't be stressing the engine with the turbo on a daily basis if you keep your foot out of it.

well i had a 2000 pontiac GTP with the 3.8 v6 Superchargered engine (eaton m90) and i had my foot floored in that car DAILY, and it wass till running perfect at 110k. so im sure the 4.0 can take the same if not more, i would just worrie about the tranny with all the extra HP.

Well, I'm no genius on the TREMEC T-5 but the design of that damn thing has been around since the 1960's so I would think it'd be pretty strongly built by now, especially since it's still used.
Then again Ford kept using the A4LD automatic in the Explorer and later Bronco IIs and it was a piece of shiz.
