There's a guy with a 3.4L V6 Firebird who has one flow master Muffler with 2 pipes coming from and it's louder than my 4.0L with true dual and 40 Series flowmaster mufflers. Is there something that makes a car louder without headers such as performance Catalitic converters? The guy told me he had performance cats and I was wondering if anyone knows if that makes much of a difference??? Please fill me in on anything anyone might know because I'm really interested! Thanks!

well i have not herd good things about the 40 series
but the american thunder gt axelback system has had good reveiws

I have the 40 series and love them I too have heard bad things about them but I absolutly 100 percent love my duals and fabricated H pipe. Plently loud for me

I have the American Thunder's on mine, clips are on my site and in the sound clip sticky. I love the sound they make.

umm, just remember how ugly his car is and it makes it all worth it. lol. yeah i heard rygen's and they sound great. especially with that turbo.

To answer your question, yes you can get high flow cats that will make it louder.

I'm going to reply to my own message lol. I need to get a sound clip of this firebird that way you can get a better understanding of it because I was literally shocked when he told me it was a V6. I'll see about doing that!

P.S. Mustang's are still better *cough*

high flow cats, will not give you that much of a performance gain tho, and the sound increase is barely anything to tlak about, but yes there is a tad increase
