Story -- I thought it was funny
I thought this was funny, but my wife may not appreciate it.
I borrowed her Focus last weekend and left her my vert. I was driving back from teaching a class 2 hours away when my cell phone went off. She was calling to tell me that she had taken the vert and went to Lowe's to pick up some things, and left the top down in the parking lot. She was really upset and didn't know what to do -- she said "someone stole the locking latches off your car!" She said she was going to put the top up because it looked like it might rain and the latches at the top of the windshield were stolen while she was in the store.
Since I still had about a 1/2 hour before I would get home I told her to just drive home and put it in the garage and I'd look at it when I got home. About 10 minutes later she called back and said "never mind, I found the latches -- I didn't realize that they were attached to the top itself and not to the windshield" -- she didn't appreciate my laughing at that for some reason, and didn't see it as nearly as funny as I did.
